Viral Detection off Swabs Using the Bead Ruptor Elite in a Novel Two-Step, Direct-to-PCR Technique

In the following application, HCoV229E spiked viral swabs were homogenized on the Bead Ruptor Elite to disrupt viral particles. In a direct-to-PCR methodology, homogenate was placed directly onto the PCR instrument for RT-qPCR amplification of HCoV229E nucleocapsid gene followed by PCR product visualization via gel electrophoresis.
