3 g of tomato seeds were placed in a 30 mL tube containing 2.4 mm stainless steel beads,one 1/4 inch ceramic bead,and 15 mL of an RNA lysis buffer. The sample was processed on the Bead Ruptor 24 Elite at 5 m/s for 5 cycles of 30 seconds with 5 minute dwells on ice.
