In the following application, porcine (Sus scrofa) skin RNA was homogenized using the Omni Bead Ruptor Elite followed by the RNA quantification via spectrophotometry, visualization via gel electrophoresis, and detection of the 18S (Sus scrofa) ribosomal subunit using RT-PCR.
