Detection of the Bacterial 16S rDNA Gene from Soil Samples using the Omni Soil DNA Purification Mini Kit

In the following application, DNA from Georgia red clay was homogenized on the Bead Ruptor Elite for nucleic acid purification using the Omni Soil DNA Purification Mini Kit. Downstream, nucleic acid was quantified using spectrophotometry, visualized via gel electrophoresis, and further analyzed using qPCR for the amplification of the bacterial 16S rDNA gene.
