30 mg of rat heart was placed in each well of a 96-well plate with one 5 mm stainless steel ball and 500 µl of buffer then sealed with a well plate sealing mat. The plate was loaded to the Bead Ruptor 96 and processed at 20 Hz for 3 cycles of 30 seconds.
